Reconciling High Speed Probing with Ethical Probing
Presented at the CoNEXT 2023 Student Workshop, this paper quantifies the risks of high-speed probing tools like ZMap and Yarrp, and recommends how to use them ethically.
Replication: Towards a Publicly Available Internet scale IP Geolocation Dataset
Our IMC 2023 replication paper revisits two well-known IP geolocation techniques, shows they do not reach their claimed accuracy or coverage on today’s Internet, and releases all code and data as a public baseline.
Towards a Publicly Available Framework to Process Traceroutes with MetaTrace
Our IMC 2023 poster presents MetaTrace, an open-source framework built on ClickHouse that processes billions of traceroutes on a single server.
Internet-Scale Route Tracing Capture and Analysis
My PhD thesis, defended at Sorbonne Université in June 2023, is about measuring the Internet’s topology at scale: a platform for high-speed route tracing, a reinforcement learning approach to discover more of the topology, and a framework to analyze the resulting data.
Zeph & Iris map the internet: A resilient reinforcement learning approach to distributed IP route tracing
Published in ACM SIGCOMM CCR, this paper presents Zeph and Iris, a reinforcement learning algorithm and an open-source platform that together trace IPv4 routes from many vantage points, finding 3 times more nodes and 10 times more links than the state of the art.
IP Geolocation Database Stability and Implications for Network Research
At TMA 2021, we took a first look at how stable IP geolocation databases are over time, and showed that picking one weekly snapshot over another can noticeably change research results.
Alias Resolution Based on ICMP Rate Limiting
Our PAM 2020 paper introduces Limited Ltd., an alias resolution tool that uses ICMP rate limiting to find which IP addresses belong to the same router, including IPv6 routers that existing techniques cannot handle.
